New skincare lines and products hit the market everyday, which is overwhelming to almost all patients. At Lakes Dermatology and The Spa at Lakes Dermatology, we have tried many of the lines and products on the market--those available over-the-counter, at your local superstore, and those that are physician-only. We offer only products that we believe have true benefits to your skin and aren't dangerous or filled with questionable ingredients. The skincare products we carry are those we use ourselves, and believe are the best on the market. We have carried SkinCeuticals products for years because they make advanced skincare products that are backed by tremendous amounts of research and science. Person & Covey

Dr. Rueckl has been carrying Person & Covey products since the early 80s. Their lotions and cleansers do not have scents so they are perfect for even the most sensitive skin. Plus, they manufacture sunscreens that contain both Avobenzone and Oxybenzone, the two ingredients proven to protect skin the best from burning and aging. Latisse ®

Over 2 million bottles of Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) have been sold since it launched, and we have sold hundreds at our offices. Latisse is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not having enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller, and darker. While Latisse is available only by prescription, it's available for purchase at our offices. Latisse is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Prevage ® MD

Prevage® MD is only available from physicians and contains 1% idebenone, a powerful topical antioxidant. Though this product is effective for many patients, it can be too strong for some patients' skin, so a proper consultation is needed before you add it into your regimen. A product line that's exclusive to physicians, the VIVITE line was developed by Allergan. Obagi®

Though we do not recommend Obagi for that many patients, its product line has proven effective over the years. The most basic problem with using it in Las Vegas (and the reason Dr. Rueckl doesn't recommend it more) is because of our climate - Obagi is great for more moist, hydrated climates, but for those of us living in Las Vegas, sometimes the products are excessively drying.
